Small Business Owner to Donate for Every Utah Valley Win

Normally, donors and season ticket holders have some sort of tie to a university. That could be as alumni or perhaps a family member attended the school. That is just kind of the norm.

But, sometimes, all it takes is a little recruiting to entice others to become season ticket holders. In the case of Matt and Allie Canaday, that is exactly what happened. Between the recruiting by athletic director Jared Sumsion and then-head coach Mark Pope, the Canaday’s became season ticket holders for the UVU men’s basketball team.

And, after watching Utah Valley beat BYU on Dec. 1, 2021 at the UCCU Center, the Canaday’s decided to make a small contribution to the school. Owners of the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory of Lehi and Auntie Anne’s Pretzels on Traverse Mountain, the Canaday’s will donate $100 for every Utah Valley win in 2021-22.

Matt joined the podcast to discuss the decision, becoming a Utah Valley fan, and more.
